Panicked By Potential Pandemic
It has been one month since swine flu broke out in Japan but its effects have echoed until now. Started in May with a climbing number of infected cases confirmed in Kansai area, this new strain of flu has been successively updated in every headline and become a hot topic for discussion. In classrooms, anyone caught sneezing or coughing longer than 5 seconds had gained the utmost attention. Several people wearing masks could be spotted on campus. I came across a friend with a mask covering half of his face while writing his report in the media center. He said he just got a cold the other day and had to put on a mask so that he would not contaminate others. On the next day, I met him again, mumbling through his mask about his new disease: hay fever, which had ended in early May to my knowledge. I knew that he was one of those who were concerned about the flu and wanted to protect themselves but did not dare to admit the truth.

A Glimpse to Nepal
A yam between two huge stones, India and China, as it is said from the past, Nepal is one of the economically challenged countries in the world with one-third of its population still lying below the poverty line. Nevertheless, Nepal, in context of natural resources, is a rich nation. The world knows Nepal as
a country of the highest peak of the world, Mount Everest, birthplace of Gautam Buddha, country of brave Gurkhas and so on.
Nepal also has a rich cultural diversity within its small territory i.e. 147,181 sq km. One of the amazing facts would be, though Nepal is a landlocked country, she is the second largest country in water resources in the world with more than 6,000 rivers.
